Happy Halloween!

Yesterday Madelyn had her 4 month check-up. All went well and her pediatrician was very happy with her growth. Madelyn weighed 16lb 9oz and her height is 26.25 inches. She is in the 85 percentile for weight and 95 percentile for height. She also checked all of her 4 month developmental growth and several off the 6 and 9 month chart which was very exciting! Dr. Lake kept saying how impressed she was with her developmental progress! This made me one happy mama! She will go back at 6 months. We ended the appointment with 2 shots and Madelyn was a tropper. She screamed but as soon as I picked her up and held her she calmed down and was happy!

Here are a few pictures from Halloween. She helped greet the door for our trick or treaters. I tried really hard to get a good picture but Madelyn thought her Halloween outfit was more fun to chew on that smile for pictures!

Here are some pictures from the past two weeks. Tuesday Madelyn has her 4 month check-up so I will update after her appointment :)

She did learn a new trick this weekend of rolling over from her stomach to her back. We were very excited, though we realize that means the rolling days are starting which also means the days of laying her on something and her staying there while we step away are on the way out!!!

We also included two videos. One so you can hear her giggle. I had to hold the phone away or she would be distracted by it. She now reaches and tries to grab our phones, makes taking pictures and videos much harder. The second video is Derek letting her drink water from his cup. He started in one night and dinner and now she LOVES it.

Our little Punkin

Thanks to Pintrest I found the cutest picture of a baby inside a pumpkin! Of course in my head I was so excited to try this for Halloween and imagined Madelyn taking just as good of a picture as the baby on Pintrest. Well as a result you can see how our lovely pictures turned out, haha! I personally think they are more entertaining pictures than a smile one! I think one day she will really enjoy this laugh! Also pretty sure Madelyn is now terrified of pumpkins :)

Fall is here...

We have had a busy past few weekends....

Two weekends ago we had Derek's sister's wedding in VA. We were so lucky to have mom and Richard come for a long weekend to help with Madelyn since both Derek and I were in the wedding. It was a fun weekend and great time celebrating Whitney and Andy's special day. Madelyn was a trooper, though she had a few meltdowns. I think the weekend was a little overwhelming for her between being away from home, Derek and I being away from her a lot and then being passed to so many people. She still was such a great girl and looked adorable in all her fancy dresses thanks for her Nana! The weekend had many good laughs and stories:)

This past weekend we got to take Madelyn to her first pumpkin patch with some good friends. We were able to get some really cute pictures of her with the pumpkins. It also was the first cold day in NC which made it really feel like Fall. As each holiday approaches they are so much more exciting now that we get to share them with her:)

Today was Madelyn's first day going with me to Mooresville. She now goes to a lady who lives right by school each day. It is really nice to have the extra time with her in the morning and getting to see her right after school! It however makes for some chaotic mornings trying to get all of us up, packed, ready and out the door by 7am! 

We are looking forward to the next few weekends not being so busy and getting to enjoy some rest and relaxation time! Hard to believe it will be Thanksgiving and even Christmas before we know it!!! Every month we reach another milestone for Madelyn and it amazes me how quick she is growing. She will be 4 months in just over week. We will go back to the Dr. the end of this month for her 4 month appt. I am anxious to see how much she has grown! Some of her new tricks are; rolling from side to side, putting her feet in her mouth, giggling. She also has found her voice and at times will talk VERY loud. She has gotten really good at her tummy time and holding her head up.
