13 weeks to go....

This week has been rather busy as Derek is transitioning out of his position in Columbia and Baby W continues to grow very quickly. This week we were looking forward to Friday more than most weeks because of our final 4D ultrasound. The last ultrasound was great, however there were times that Baby W was hiding behind the placenta which made it hard to see her. By giving it a few more weeks we were also able to see some significant growth in our little girl which was great. Friday morning we spent about 30 minutes trying to get our shy girl to remove her hands from her face as she always likes to hide. I had to pull some crazy moves to get Baby W moving but she finally decided to show her cute face. Below is the ultrasound and a few pictures for you to enjoy. There are a few shots during the ultrasound where she is smiling, yawning, or even sticking her tounge out so pay close attention. Less than 3 short months until we get to meet our little girl! In other news, Ryan paid us a visit this past Thursday since he was in Hickory for work. It was nice to see him and we wish that he was a little closer so we could visit more often. He and Derek talked a lot of golf and watched basketball until midnight. Next Saturday we will start our very busy season with our trip to Costa Rica, pictures and posts to come!!

Goodbye Columbia...

This has been a very exciting week for us. As of this past Friday Derek has accepted a job back with the Charlotte YMCA's. This opportunity came about a couple weeks ago and Derek and I have been anxiously waiting and hoping this great oppotunity would work out. It is not only an awesome career opportunity for Derek but as you can imagine the 3 hours of communting a day was about to kill Derek. He really was struggling with all the time he would miss with the baby due to having to drive come this summer. It truly couldn't have worked out any better and are beyond excited to have him back it Charlotte. Not to mention the raise we are about to get just in gas money, haha! I am so proud of him!!!!


As of today I am 27 weeks pregnant. We have had a few changes the past week. Though I have felt Baby W move for awhile now, she now is kicking much harder. To the point some times she startles me. Derek can also now feel her when she is moving which he LOVES!!! He now talks, reads and even plays her music all the time, ha!! At times when she is really moving you can even see my whole belly shaking, which still always amazes me.
I have also started having the awful heartburn that I always read you get during pregnancy. Of course the old wives take says the more heartburn means the more hair the baby will have. Wouldn't be surprised being how thick of hair both Derek and I both have. Of course this always brings up the discussion of what color hair do we think she will have. Since Derek has such dark hair and I have red, I think it is one of the things we are most excited to see on her!


Today we are going on our hospital tour at Presbyterian Hosptial Huntersville. We also are all signed up for our birthing classes starting in April. Hard to believe 3 months from today is Baby W's due date:)


We have our 3D ultra sound again this Friday. I can't wait to see how she has changed. We will make sure to post the pictures from the ultrasound next weekend. For now here is a picture we took yesterday so show me at 26 weeks and a picture of the hosptital we will deliver at :)
